It Used To Be My Sewing Corner...

...eventually it will be my, excuse me, OUR exercise area.

However, I do have a little bitty bit of work to do before that happens. This is what it looks like right now, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009:

Isn't that a lovely piece of machinery? I can tell already that I'm really going to get a lot of use out of it.

...but not if I don't get my act together and get it set up. Well, next week will be less hectic. And I will be here alone, since Thomas is leaving for Florida tomorrow. He will be gone a month. As I've said elsewhere, it totally totally sucks. Makes me want to say dirty words and work horrific, torturous, violence on my ex. But I digress...

Today I walked for 15 minutes and did the variation in speed that Bunny talked about in her post. I've not done much walking this past week, but the last two times I did walk I did the variation thing. Today I didn't get up much speed because I was already tired. But after my walk I did 45 minutes of exercises, concentrating on abs and arms with some nice long stretches too. Felt good.

Sugar was not too bad this morning, 183. Not good, but not terrible. Then my after meal number was 228, I think. That is NOT good. I would like to get to a place where I don't ever get over 200. I need to work on that harder, don't I?

Anyway, we went out for a drive today and looked at some houses that I had been looking at online. I think we have found our place, but still need to go inside it and get a good feeling for it. On the way home we picked up Chinese takeout. I had mu shu chicken, which is essentially chicken with cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms, other veggies, which you wrap in thin rice pancakes and serve with plum sauce. I went light on the sauce and only ate two pancakes.

I felt good today. It felt good to just spend time with my fellas and have a pleasant, relaxing day. It was enjoyable to the max. It was a nice day, temperature in the 70's, light breeze, lots of sunshine. Lovely day for an outing.

Good luck Holly on your new machine. I'd sprain a couple of muscles trying to put it together...

BTW, I LOVE the way you dress!!! I love how you mix prints and solid. Of course, seeing those sandals is making my toes very cold...

I almost did, Carol! That small squarish box weighs 73 pounds! I picked it right up and carried it from one room to the other without any trouble. After I put it down Thomas said, "Mom! That box weighs 73 pounds! You should not have picked it up!" The weight was stamped on the side of the box, and I didn't read it first. If I had I would not have been able to pick it up. My mind was thinking it weighed like 40-50 pounds. Something that would be no problem. If I had known... :-) I was really tired after Thomas and I had moved it all to the corner. Had to sit down and rest a bit. Wow, I'm so out of shape.

Thanks about the clothes. I find that the older I get the more colorful I am getting. When I was younger I was too self conscious to wear bright colors. I always tried to "blend in" with the scenery. Now... I don't care as much. I pretty much wear stuff that I like and to heck with what others think. :)

Hey lovely lady. Sorry that your boy will be gone for a month. I know you'll miss him terribly.

We're two peas in a pod. I lift things all of the time that are too heavy for me. We'll both be hunched over well before our time if we don't stop.

I can't wait to see your machine all put together. It's hard to picture what it'll be like. You look so excited though- glad that you have it. :D

P.S. I confess- I haven't exercised in two days and I ate nothing but pizza yesterday. Today is a new day though and after going shopping with my mom and grandma, I'm going to take a nice 20-30 minute run. Wish me luck (I'm not much of a runner).

P.S. Chaki is right. You do have some pretty clothes. Very girlie! I wear a lot of dark solids. Boring!!

Nice boxes SKW...OK I am only joking. Putting it together will be exercise.

Remember with Thomas gone you still have all of us to keep you company.

Wow! Running, Jeannie? I used to love to run. I think I mentioned before that I ran track from elementary school thru 9th grade. I absolutely loved to run. It was like... like... flying. but you can see the obvious problem with it now. :) They don't make a fabric strong enough to hold the girls in place. It hurts when I run, now, if I don't cross my arms over them and, well, that's just not as much fun as running with your arms swinging freely. :( But my walk is getting faster, and that is fun, too, in it's own way. :)

HA HA, Pam! That was funny. Really. I hope to work on it tomorrow but... I have an appnt. with the dermatologist in the morning then I have to take the car down to the dealership for service, and then the man wants me to go to the Publix cause they have porkloins on sale for $1.99 per pound, which is a very good sale for now days, but I don't want to go. I want to do MY stuff... :)

73 lbs!! Well, that's certainly good warm-up for lifting weighs. Be careful!! I complain about carrying potatoes...

I've started Billy Blanks Bootcamp Workout again. It's a hard workout but only one that actually works. (Weighed myself, put on 1 lb since my "so-call diet.") No equipment fits here, just DVD player. Here's to a slimmer, more fit 2009!!!!

I love the green and blue! You look great!

I don't know what I'd do if my girl left for a month. I know you'll be fine, though. Here's a big (((HUG)))!
