I'm Wearing My Brand New Shoes...

"Hey I put some new shoes on
and suddenly everything is right
"

Thank you Paolo Nutini.

So... I bought some new shoes a few weeks ago. The other day when I took my walk I got a huge ugly blister on my left heel. I was not amused. I have been taking short walks in my house shoes ever since. Because I didn't want to give up my walks but I couldn't use my walking shoes. Today I went to Academy Sports and purchased a new new pair of walking shoes.

New Balance, of course. And you know what the problem was? I've worn a size 8.5 sneaker for years, decades... today I purchased a size 7.5 sneaker. Weird! I dropped a whole shoe size! Cool, eh? Would be better if it had been a dress size. But I'll take what I can get.

I did walk for 20 minutes today in my new shoes, but my blister is not fully healed yet and I nearly tore the skin, so I stopped. Bummer. But I'm sure I will be back to my usual walks soon.

Oh! I also got a set of hand weights to use with my Gilad DVDs. The set included: a set of 1 pound weights; a set of 3 pound weights; and a set of 5 pound weights.

My sugar is still sort of high but not as high as it was. I have been a little bit busy lately and haven't had the time or energy to concentrate on a routine. Tomorrow and Friday will be better. I hope.

I know... this post doesn't have a picture of me in it... that's cause I am using the laptop and I don't have many pictures saved on here. Let me see what I can find...

Nothing. Sorry. I'll post something tomorrow.
Bye for now.

I've had really weird shoe sizes.. all depending on weight and of course style of shoe. Hubby adores New Balance so I'm sure after your blister heals (awww so sorry those hurt so bad..) the shoes will fit better. I got new sneakers for the first time in 11 years myself.. just recently. Never noticed how different they felt! Hope yours grow in soon and you feel much better! I still like the picture though :) And I am in awe of your tenacity to keep at it!

Thanks, Elsie. I did think about not doing anything... but then I got my "stubborn" on and put some inserts into my fuzzy slippers to give them a bit more cushion, and I went for my walks. Not as long or as far as I would normally, but it was something. I have figured this out about myself... the more I make excuses to not do it, the easier it gets to find excuses to not do it and then before long... you've gone a week, a month... no walks. I am trying really hard to not do that again.

ROFL- that is the shoe I wear too! But...bunny feet me had to buy a Size 11. I normally wear a 9 1/2 but my feet swell so much after exercise. When I was heavier though I used to wear bigger shoes. You'd be surprised when people put on weight! Even my wrists got smaller. So maybe you wear a smaller shoe now because you've lost a few pounds. :D

Talk about your "great minds", eh? Love the shoes. They felt great yesterday, over all. It's just that the blister started hurting, but the shoes fit nicely and feel good. I love New Balance. The ones that gave me a blister were NBs, too, they were just too big. I haven't even worn the "new" off of them. I need to see if I have the receipt still so I can get my money back. Or get a store credit, at least, if it's too long since I bought them. Its been a couple of months I think.

I find my shoe size is different depending on the type of shoe. The dress shoes I'm wearing now are a size 9, but my sneakers are a size 8. (By the way, these dress shoes are Aerosoles and they are so comfy. They are flats, and I wear them on my commute. Some dress shoes I have to carry with me and wear sneakers for all my walking, but not these!)

I just bought a new pair and they are size 9 1/2. With me it depends on the maker. Reebok's I always wear 8 1/2, everything else is usually a 9.

Holly put a big band aid on your blister. The padding should protect the skin.

Too late, Pam. The skin already tore off. I did use a big bandaid today, but it came off anyway. Oh well... Putting antibiotic ointment on it at night. Its healing pretty nicely. Should have the new skin toughened up in no time. :)
